Speaking about this year’s winners, Managing Director of i2o Limited Robert Carpenter said: “We are champions of outdoor learning and we know schools are too. Over the last 20 years, we have worked with schools across the country and continually see how passionate schools are about outdoor learning and the impact this has on students. The Pocca Awards programme was designed to recognise the hugely valuable outdoor learning efforts and achievements of UK schools. The 2018 winners are a fantastic example of how educational settings are making the most of their limited resources in order to truly enhance their students’ learning experiences.” New for 2018, the Pocca Awards were developed by outdoor canopy provider i2o Ltd and launched under its outdoor canopy brand name Pocca. i2o Ltd are champions of outdoor learning and hold strong, long standing partnerships across the educational sector. The 2018 awards programme was open to any educational setting based in the UK that could demonstrate its outdoor learning excellence; with or without a canopy area. Schools were invited to complete a short nomination form between 8th January - 9th March 2018 to demonstrate their outdoor learning approach in one of the four key categories. Each entry was reviewed by a judging panel to determine the shortlist, which was announced on 15th March 2018. The 11 settings on the shortlist were subject to a public vote from 16th March 2018 to 30th March 2018, with the eventual category winners confirmed based on the number of votes received. Winners will receive a personalised trophy and a framed certificate from i2o Ltd to recognise their achievement and contribution.
